Privacy Policy
Last updated October 7, 2026
This policy explains what information Village Sports (“we”, “us”) collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the website at village-sports.com. Questions? Call us at 508-672-4284 or stop by the store at 737 State Road, Westport, MA 02790.
The short version
- You can browse this website without creating an account or telling us who you are.
- We don’t use advertising or analytics trackers, and we don’t sell or rent your information to anyone.
- Purchases, payments and our rewards program happen by phone or in the store, not on this website. You can request a seat in a class online, but we never take card or payment details on this website.
- Some pages load content from Google (fonts and a map), which means Google receives basic technical information from your browser.
Information you give us
Messages. If you contact us by phone, email or one of the forms on this website (the contact form, the FFL transfer request form or the class registration form), we receive whatever you choose to tell us, such as your name, email address, phone number and message. A transfer request also includes the sending dealer’s name and contact details and a description of the firearm you’re transferring; a class registration includes the class you chose and, if you give it, your mailing address. Form messages are emailed to our store and are not stored on this website; we use them only to reply to you and keep them only as long as needed to help you.
Email list. If you sign up for our email newsletter, your email address (and your name, if you give it) is stored by our email provider, Constant Contact, and used to send you news, specials and class dates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you. Constant Contact’s handling of your information is covered by its privacy policy.
Information collected automatically
Server logs. Like almost every website, our web server records basic technical information about each visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time. We use these logs to keep the site running and secure (for example, to spot abuse), not to identify or profile visitors.
Cookies. The public pages of this website don’t set cookies. The only cookie we use is a login cookie for our staff administration area, which visitors never see.
Content from other companies
Some parts of our pages are loaded from other companies’ servers. When your browser loads them, those companies receive your IP address and basic browser information under their own privacy policies:
- Google Fonts provides the fonts and icons used on every page. (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google Maps shows the map on our Contact page. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads or when you interact with it. (Google Privacy Policy)
In-store records
This policy is about the website. Buying or transferring a firearm in the store requires identification and records that federal and Massachusetts law require us to keep and, in some cases, report. Those records are kept and shared only as the law requires. If you join our rewards program in the store, we keep the details needed to run it, such as your name, contact information and purchase totals.
How we share information
We don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only:
- with service providers that help us run the business (such as our web host and email provider), only for that purpose;
- when the law requires it, such as a valid subpoena or a legally required firearm record or report; or
- to protect the safety of our customers, staff or the public.
Security
This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to our administration area is limited to our staff. No website is perfectly secure, so please don’t send sensitive information such as license numbers or payment details through our website forms or email.
Your choices
- You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email.
- You can ask us what personal information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by calling 508-672-4284 or visiting the store. We’ll honor these requests unless the law requires us to keep the information.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; this website will still work.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
